Peter Day is the Executive Director of Strategy and Regulatory Policy with the Agriculture and Biosecurity Division of the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development. He has extensive senior leadership experience in regulatory compliance, food safety, biosecurity, and emergency operations, including as the Executive Director of the Resources Regulator, overseeing a diverse range of compliance and regulatory issues, including work health and safety in the NSW mining and petroleum sectors.
Peter has held senior executive roles within the Department, including Director, Compliance & Integrity Systems and Executive Director, Compliance, Investigation & Enforcement with the NSW Food Authority. He is recognised for leading strategic regulatory reform, contributed extensively to national policies on compliance, enforcement and auditing, and delivering outcomes through strong collaboration.
Peter holds a Master of Arts Degree in Public Sector Leadership and Policy.
