Anna Cronin

Building and Plumbing Commission

Anna was appointed Chief Executive Officer at the Victorian Building Authority - now The Building and Plumbing Commission - in June 2023, then Commissioner and CEO in March 2024. 

After graduating with a Bachelor of Economics degree from the ANU, Anna's career started as an economist in the Federal Government. She has considerable experience in leadership, policy development and administration work across many areas including tax, trade, agriculture, mining and complex regulatory approvals for major projects.

Over the last 25 years Anna has been the CEO of the National Farmers' Federation and a senior executive in the Victorian and Western Australian Governments. She was appointed as Victoria's first Commissioner for Better Regulation in 2015. 

Anna led the Victorian Government's review into planning and building approvals in 2019 and chaired the Victorian Government’s Expert Panel on Building Reform.
